You can purchase a plan but only the current plans that have unlimited* 4G Wimax. You won't be able to use the 4G Wimax (of course) but you'd have either 2GB of 3G or 5GB of 3G ($35 & $55). You could purchase the $5 plan that gives you 200MB of 3G which is only valid for 24 hours.

I tried the service via youtube rental, but got an error in my purchase. I got no video and see the charges pending on my bank account. I suspect this sytem is a scam and have reported to BBB as such.

I have an Ipod touch 3G and I've been considering getting the ZTE Peel but keep running into dead ends. The ZTE Peel on ebay is for sprint service, and when i talk to sprint they no longer support any plans for this device. I found the ZTE Peel for Virgin Mobile on amazon, but I have yet to confirm on their site if I can buy a plan from Virgin Mobile for the device ..

Tried it. The maximum distance for connection between the hand unit and the base is only good for about 12 feet line-of-site. In other words it is useless in a house unless you only want boosted coverage for one room!

The headphone work fine, but from a runners perspective the in line controller is in the worst possible location along the cord. The only place I can clip it to is the neckline of my shirt. Needless to say that's extremely annoying when running. Get rid of that chunky weight and the product would be 100 times better.

I love this thing! Are you kidding me? I haven't seen a more affordable portable projector with 1080p image. That is a bummer that there isn't more projection options. But the idea is great as long as it the quality of video is as good as they claim.

One question: where is the HDMI port? You mentioned that it has HDMI capabilities but that image of the back of the unit doesn't show one. Just curious.
